With her striking looks and unique dress sense, Frida Kahlo is not only one of the most influential artists of her generation but also a unique style icon, as seen here in our most loved post of the week on AnOther Loves as chosen by Trevor De Cotta. Originally organized by The New York Botanical Garden, this exhibition celebrates Frida Kahlo’s keen appreciation for the beauty and variety of the natural world, as evidenced by the garden and decoration of her home, the Casa Azul, as well as the complex use of plant imagery in her paintings.. Telling Frida Kahlo’s Story Through the Plants She Loved Nearly every plant in the Frida and Her Garden exhibition helps tell a story. The majority are species that the famed Mexican artist incorporated into her paintings, planted in her garden, or are Mexican in origin. A few offer a nod to her husband, muralist Diego Rivera.
